Hello! I’m Amanda and I’m so glad you stopped by.
I guess you could say that I am a wandering soul. I’ve taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade in three states. My bachelor’s degree in elementary education is from Arizona State University and my master’s degree in special education is from George Mason University.
It’s a good thing that I like to travel because we do a lot of it with my husband’s Navy career. Military life has provided me with opportunities to grow as a teacher. I’ve been able to work with amazing principals, teachers, staff members, parents, and students along the way, and I’ve learned a lot from them.
One of the things I have become passionate about is helping teachers support the various needs of students in their classrooms. Being dually certified in both general and special education, I understand the demands of both groups. There isn’t enough time or support on any day to be able to fully meet the unique needs of all of our students. But it is vital that we try! So my mission is to equip teachers with the tools and techniques to support ALL their students. I strongly believe in the power of differentiating instruction, but I know both time and resources make it difficult for many. I hope you can find ideas, techniques, resources, and support to help you to meet the needs of your diverse learners better.
So let’s teach together!
